Biography
My name is Russell James Clark, born to Mildred and James Clark of Wilkinsburg, Pa. I grew up in Penn Hills on a two acre homestead, where I began my journey and learned to love nature. I had a traditional education, served my country in the United States Navy and became a health care provider for 37 years. I married a wonderful woman and together we raised four beautiful and talented children. Due to life’s twists and turns I started a new journey.
Artist Statement
I am a self taught wood turner and carver of wooden spoons. The wood shows me what it will become. I never force nature into something it hates. My work is created from reclaimed local wood. I put much love into my work and try to create memorable works of art that stand the test of time, and will be used by generations to come.
